We are on a mission to provide mental healthcare to young adults that is affordable, available, and specialized to their unique needs.

Our approach

Up to 20% of children in the U.S. have a diagnosable mental health disorder.

50% of mental illness begins by age 14, and 75% by age 24.

About 50% of children who need care do not receive it from a specialized behavioral health provider.

Our care has been designed by experts who specialize in treating mental health in young adults. Our care model is built upon an in-house training fellowship that every Freehand therapist participates in. This ensures that all Freehand therapists are trained in care that is based on scientific evidence, and in the specific needs and challenges of young adulthood.

We are witnessing a silent pandemic of rising mental illness among young people. Today, over one in three young adults in the US have a diagnosable mental health disorder. We all are or have a loved one who is working on their mental health.

Yet, our youth go without receiving proper care too often. Therapists and psychiatrists can be expensive and inaccessible. When it comes to our mental health, three-month waitlists are unacceptable. We believe that every person should have access to mental health care, and every family should have somewhere to turn. That's why we created a better care model.
